The summer school program offers make-up of
academic subjects. To be eligible for make-up
courses, a high school
student must have taken the course during the
regular year, and received at least a grade of
“F”, passed one term, or have
the recommendation of her/his classroom teacher or
guidance counselor.

Location: The new, state-of-the-art,
air-conditioned
Whitman-Hanson Regional High School,
600 Franklin Street, Whitman, Massachusetts 02382.
Summer School Hotline: 781-618-7025.
Costs:
A fee of $150 per course is
charged for local students. A fee of $175 per
course is charged for students outside of the school district. There will be a
registration fee of $5.00 for all students. There
will be no refunds for withdrawals after June 29, 2006.
Dates:
Summer School will begin on Wednesday, June 28th
and continue through Thursday, July 27th. Classes
will run
Monday through Friday. There will be two sessions
daily. The first session will begin at 8:00am and
end at 10:00am.
The second session will run from 10:00am until
12:00pm. Students do not have a choice as to which
session their
course is offered. Class lists and times will be
posted at the main entrance at Whitman-Hanson
Regional High School on
Monday, June 26th after 9:00am. In recognition of
the Independence Holiday, Summer School will not
hold
classes on Monday, July 3rd and Tuesday, July 4th.
Rules and Regulations:
A student is expected to attend all classes.
Absences from class are limited to two days. The
third absence results in
course failure. Tardiness greater than 15 minutes
will be considered the equivalent of one absence.
Two occurrences of
less than 15 minutes will equal one absence. Two
dismissals from a class will equal one absence.
ALL RULES THAT PERTAIN TO THE REGULAR SCHOOL YEAR
WILL APPLY TO SUMMER SCHOOL.
Students referred to the Summer School Director
for disruptive behavior in class more than two
times will be withdrawn from class.
STUDENTS WITHDRAWN FROM A CLASS WILL NOT BE
ELIGIBLE FOR A TUITION REFUND.
Whitman-Hanson is a smoke-free environment, both
inside the building and on the grounds. Parents
and students should
be aware that serious violations (i.e. smoking,
vandalism, etc.) will result in expulsion from
summer school.
The Grading Procedure:
Make-up grades of B- to A+ will raise a failing
grade to a C. A make-up grade of D- to C+ will
raise a failing grade to a D.
Registration:
Registration, including payment by check, money
order, Visa, and Master Card (no cash accepted),
will be held in the
main office at Whitman-Hanson Regional High School
from 8am to 3pm on Thursday, June 22nd, and
Friday, June 23rd. |
