SCHOLARSHIP - $175
Awarded annually to a
senior girl
entering a four-year
college. She should have an
outstanding record of
scholarship, citizenship,
and participation in
extra-curricular activities.

Awarded to two
deserving students planning
to further their education,
with adherence to basic
religious principles,
scholastic ability and/or
financial need.

PETER W. COLBY MEMORIAL
SCHOLARSHIP - $100
Awarded to a male
member of the graduation
class of
Whitman-Hanson Regional High
School who has
been admitted to post-high
school education program in
the area of vocational
education.

ROBERT E. BROOKS MEMORIAL
SCHOLARSHIP - $150 Awarded to only one member of the graduating
class continuing his
education in the field of
art or technical education.

THE PAMELA COSTANTINO
MEMORIAL AWARD - $300
Financial need and
academic achievement shall
be the primary criteria used
in selecting the student
receiving the award. The
recipient of this award must
attend a four-year college
in the September following
graduation at
Whitman-Hanson Regional High
School.

JOHN J. FARRELL MEMORIAL
AWARD - $100
Awarded to a member of the
Senior Class of
Whitman-Hanson Regional High
School.
Financial need and a
commitment to work hard
shall be the primary
criteria used. The
recipient should be a good
student but not necessarily
a superior one, and must
attend a two or a four-year
college in the September
following graduation.

JAMES "JIMMY CAZ" CASTAGNOZZI MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP - $500
Awarded to a
Whitman-Hanson senior who
will be attending
Bridgewater State College in
the Aviation Program. If
there is no such student, it
is to be given to a student
attending Bridgewater State
College who has not yet
received another
scholarship.

PLYMOUTH COUNTY EDUCATION ASSOCIATION (3)
To be awarded to one
student from
Whitman, one
from Hanson
and one from
Whitman-Hanson Regional High
School.
Criteria:
Recipients should be the
child of a WHEA/PCEA member
or a student
continuing their studies in
education preferably
both.

Recipient must be a WHRHS
student who has excelled in
band, choir or orchestra and

This award is to be
presented to a
Whitman-Hanson Regional
senior boy or girl who has
been accepted by and will be
attending
College of the Holy Cross. He
or she must have maintained
a B or better average,
played in at least one
varsity sport, and must be
active in other school
activities.
Award will be given after
the first semester of the
freshman year of college.

SCHOLARSHIP--$500
The recipient of this
scholarship
must
be pursuing a career in the
nursing field. Preference
will be given to a relative
only if pursuing a nursing
career or related field
(science, etc.). If there
are no applicants,
scholarship will not be
given that year. Payment
will be made second
semester.

ERNEST A. MOORE SCHOLARSHIP
TRUST
Awarded to young men and/or
women who have been
residents
in the towns of
Whitman and/or Hanson
for at least 4 years prior
to graduation, and students
at Whitman-Hanson Regional
High School whose parents
would have difficulty in
paying for higher
education. The college,
university, or institution
of higher learning beyond
that of high school is
unlimited
except
that
no
scholarship will be awarded
to an applicant wishing to
attend pre-med or medical
school. Also exempt will
be any student planning to
attend any theological
school.

given after completion of
the first semester by
providing grades or a second
semester bill.

Scholarship for WHRHS senior
who has participated in
Whitman-Hanson's ice hockey
program. Student must
be planning to attend a 2 or
4 year college or university

Recipient will receive the
scholarship after first
semester grades and must
also earn a 2.0 GPA or
higher during the first
semester.

This honor will be awarded
to a deserving student
residing in
Whitman,
attending the 12th
grade, or equivalent, of a
public or private school,
either within or outside the
limits of the town of
Whitman. It will be based
on the applicants need
and/or scholarship ability,
with preference given to a
relative of Legion Member, a
son or daughter of a
veteran, or other qualified
applicants.

WHITMAN AMERICAN LEGION
AUXILIARY UNIT #22 -
$500
Awarded to any senior
student wishing to further
his or her education. This
award will be based on
character, financial need
and scholastic ability.
Preference will be given to
a member or to a relative of
a veteran. Three references
are required for this
scholarship.

Awarded to members of the
graduating class who will be
attending an accredited two
or four-year College.
Students must be
HANSON
residents. Preference will be
given to a son/daughter of a
member of the Hanson
American Legion.

This scholarship will be
awarded to a graduating

planning to attend a
post-secondary school to
further his/her education or
training for employment.
Students whose parents are
current active members of
Whitman Mothers Club will
receive top priority.

other applicants will be
considered.
