Financial aid is money to help a student meet the costs
of going to college, based on financial need. Financial
need is the difference between the cost of attendance (COA)
and the expected family contribution (EFC) that a
student and/or his/her family can pay.
The Cost of Attending (COA)
college includes:
tuition and fees
books and supplies
housing and food (room & board)
personal expenses (laundry, recreation, etc.)

Dealing With Debt-
Learning proper debt management skills early
on in life will help you build a solid
foundation for smart money use in the
future. Loans must be repaid whether or not
you complete your college degree. Think
carefully about how much money you will
borrow while going to school and limit to
just tuition and fee costs or needed living
expenses.
