The library staff encourages students to make use of the resources (including the library staff) in our school library. Students may come to the library with their class or may obtain a pass from one of their teachers and come to the library to check out and return materials or to do research.

Borrowing Books

1. Students may take out two books and one magazine at a time. (Exception: Students working on an assignment may take out more than two books with the librarian’s permission.)

2. Materials are checked out for a two-week circulation period.

3. Library materials must be returned on or before the due date, but an item may be renewed for a second two-week period if no one else has requested that item.

4. Students with overdue materials may not check out additional items.

5. Students are held responsible for the full payment of lost or damaged books. (A student’s report card will be withheld at the end of the school year if money owed for lost or damaged books has not been paid.)

1. Students are expected to show respect and consideration of others and conduct themselves in a quiet and orderly manner.

2. Students are expected to behave responsibly in their care and handling of library materials.

3. The library should be kept neat and orderly (i.e., chairs under desks/tables, books returned to their proper places).

4. Students who abuse library privileges or rules will have their library privileges suspended for two weeks.

1. Students are expected to follow the computer and Internet policies in the student handbook.

2. In addition, students must have their Internet Use stickers visible at their workstation when using the computer.
